Softball: Kaneland goes 5-0 in Myrtle Beach

Kaneland's softball team finished a 5-0 trip to the Mingo Bay Classic in Myrtle Beach Friday with a 12-0 win over Bamberg-Ehrhardt (SC).

The Knights scored 73 runs in their five wins on the trip.

In Friday's win, Lexi Abruzzo (2 hits), Aly Jesionowski (2 hits, 3B), Meg Cohrs (3 hits, 2 RB, 2 RBI), MaryLynn Clausen (2 hits, RBI), Courtney Davis (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI) and Rachel Goress (3B, 2 RBI) led the offense.

Davis picked up the win in the circle, allowing 3 hits with 1 strikeout and no walks.
