Western Sydney moves into 1st place in A-League

SYDNEY (AP) - Brendon Santalab scored goals in each half Friday as the Western Sydney Wanderers beat Central Coast 4-1, leaving the top five A-League teams separated by only five points.

The Wanderers lead Melbourne City and Brisbane by one point and Adelaide by two, with Perth five points behind in fifth place.

Adelaide is at Sydney FC on Saturday while Brisbane hosts Newcastle and Melbourne City plays at Perth on Sunday.

The Melbourne Victory, which has a six-point lead over Sydney for the sixth and final playoff spot, plays in Wellington, New Zealand, in another Saturday match.
