Denny's, Burger King coming to Huntley
Huntley will soon be getting a new Denny's and Burger King restaurants.
Renovations are underway for the roughly 4,300-square-foot Denny's, which will locate in the former Culver's site in the Drendel's Corner building at 13240 S. Route 47. Signage was put up earlier this week, and the eatery should be ready to open within the next couple of weeks, said Charles Nordman, village director of development services.
Dave Kahre, owner of Pride Restaurants LLC, has worked with the Denny's organization since 1991 and the Huntley restaurant is his 11th franchise.
"We're excited to be opening in Huntley," he said. "It's a great demographic for us, and we feel the community will embrace the diner atmosphere at Denny's and 24-hour breakfast."
Construction of the Burger King also began earlier this week on a 1.4-acre lot in front of the Wal-Mart Supercenter within the 350,000-square-foot Huntley Grove shopping center at Route 47 and Kreutzer Road.
The roughly 2,500-square-foot restaurant likely will take three months to build, Nordman said.
