Police asking for help in search for Grayslake man

A Grayslake man last seen leaving a bar early Monday morning on his motorcycle never made it to his destination and police are asking for the public's help. Police said yesterday that Seth J. Goodwin, 24, was last seen leaving Fog Cutter Bar, 36021 Rt. 45 in Lindenhurst, at about 1:30 a.m. Monday. Full story.

Autopsy this morning for teen who died at Allendale

An autopsy is scheduled for this morning for a 16-year-old boy who died after an incident at the Allendale Association campus in Lake Villa. Lake Villa police and rescue were called at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday for the report of an injury at the private, nonprofit social service organization for children and adolescents with moderate to profound emotional and behavioral disabilities, officials said. Workers at Zengeler Cleaners in Libertyville put the finishing touches on cleaning and pressing new and gently used prom dresses Thursday before loading them into vans for delivery to needy Chicago-area high school girls. CLC also laying off employees in wake of state budget stalemate

Local colleges have announced layoffs as a result of the state's ongoing budget impasse that has left them without state funding since July of last year. Palatine's Harper College and College of Lake County in Grayslake both said yesterday they'll eliminate 20 or more positions at each school, while Elgin Community College officials say they are still assessing the situation. Family Dollar store robbed in Waukegan

A Waukegan Family Dollar store was robbed at gunpoint yesterday afternoon. A masked man entered the store, 610 S. Genesee St., just after noon and pulled a handgun, police said. Full story.

Man killed, 3 injured in Waukegan crash

A 22-year-old man was killed and three others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Waukegan Wednesday that may have been caused by a medical emergency, police said. Full story.

Blackhawks teammates react to Keith situation

So, what was Duncan Keith thinking when he swung his stick at Charlie Coyle's head during the Blackhawks' loss at Minnesota on Tuesday? It's a question that remains unanswered Thursday as Keith did not speak to reporters after the Hawks practiced at Johnny's Icehouse West. Keith remains suspended until he has a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety. "It's tough losing a guy like that, but you have to look at it the other way.
