Roland Foods recalls some canned peppers after finding glass

NEW YORK (AP) - Roland Foods is recalling more than 21,000 cans of roasted red pepper strips because some customers have reported finding glass fragments in them.

The New York-based company said Friday the voluntary recall applies only to cans that are 5 pounds and 8 ounces. It says the products were shipped to food distributors and supermarket chains across the U.S. and Canada between March 1 and March 28.

The recall applies to 3,592 cases, each containing six cans. The cases are marked with lot numbers 427, 428, 432 and 437.

Roland Foods LLC says there have been no reports of health problems and an investigation is underway.

This story has been corrected to show the recall applies to cans weighing 5 pounds 8 ounces, not 8-ounce cans weighing 5 pounds.
