Neuqua Valley Rugby Club ranked nationally and ready for conference games

Neuqua Valley Rugby Club is set to start their 2016 conference schedule with high expectations

The club has had a busy pre-season participating in a number of tournaments and scrimmages preparing for the Division 1 Illinois conference season. As a result the club has been recognized nationally - 49th for high school programs.

The club participated at the Florida Ruggerfest Tournament with 2 teams, 1 varsity and 1 JV. They went undefeated in 6 matches. There have been local scrimmages with Brother Rice, Fenwick, Naperville, and Plainfield before travelling downstate to Georgetown IL to play De La Salette the 37th nationally ranked program. Lastly the club took 2 sides (teams) to the Penn (HS) Invite in Elkhart IN with 4 matches over spring break. In all, the varsity team has had 9 preseason matches or scrimmages and won 7 of them. Their only loss was 38-17 to De La Salette and a tie with Brother Rice. The JV team has fared just as well as a very competitive Freshman/Sophomore team.
