Softball: Kaneland puts up 19 more runs

The Kaneland softball team continued to put up big offensive numbers Thursday at the Mingo Bay Classic in Myrtle Beach.

Courtney Davis was 4-for-5 with a double and 4 RBI while Morgan Weber had 3 hits including 2 doubles and an RBI as the Knights (5-2) pounded out 21 hits in a 19-6 win over the Princeton/Ohio co-op team from central Illinois. Kaneland also got a five-inning no-hitter from Aly Jesionowski, Davis and Meg Cohrs. Jesionowski pitched 4⅔ innings with 11 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Kaneland has now scored 61 runs in its 4 games in Myrtle Beach. Kaneland has one game left on its trip Friday.

Also contributing to the offense on Thursday were Lexi Abruzzo (2 hits, 2 RBI), Jesionowski (2 hits, RBI), Cohrs (2 hits, 2B, RBI) and Hannah Theobald (3 hits, 3 RBI).
