Gail Borden Library to host 'Authors Fair' April 17
Discover a brand-new author (who might also be a neighbor!) at the "Authors Fair" from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin.
More than 40 authors from Elgin, suburban Chicago and around the Midwest are participating in the meet-and-greet of potential new readers at the library's festive literary event, which will take place in the Meadows Community Rooms.
One well-known Chicago author Michael Alan Peck, Soon-To-Be-Famous Illinois Author 2015 winner, will be the keynote speaker at the fair. Peck, author of "The Commons," is someone to keep an eye out for in the literary world.
Elgin residents Beckie Butcher, Razia Ahmad, Shane Cloonan, Mary Ellen Goodwill, Steve Stroud, Gareth Sitz, and more will also be among the authors present.
These authors will represent a variety of genres, like mystery, horror, romance, historical fiction, nonfiction, self-help, financial planning, and more, along with a few children's authors and illustrators (set up in the youth gateway).
No registration is required to join in on the fun at this festive fair, where refreshments will be served, and books will be available for purchase and signing. Stop on by and get ready to meet some inspiring local authors!
