Daytime burglaries have Geneva police stepping up patrols

Geneva police said Tuesday they will be stepping up patrols in residential areas, and are asking residents to be on alert, following a daytime burglary Monday.

Police say a rear window was broken to gain entry into a home on the 1000 block of Westfield Course at 12:50 p.m. Monday. Officers discovered jewelry of an unknown value was missing.

It follows reports of daytime residential burglaries on the east side of St. Charles during the past couple of weeks.

Geneva police in a news release asked residents to be mindful of suspicious behavior in their neighborhoods, asking them to report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
