Fremd picks up key West win
Fremd's girls water polo team handed Conant its first loss of the season on Tuesday, topping the Mid-Suburban League defending champs 11-6 in a West Division matchup.
Jenessa Islas-Parker led the Vikings (4-3, 2-1) with 3 goals, while Becca Rutkowski, Paulina Pappas and Sarah Coombes had each.
Sam Wooley paced Conant (7-1, 2-1) with 3 goals.
• Barrington got 5 goals from Isabella Rosas and 3 from Andrea Potgieter in picking up an 11-8 victory over Hoffman Estates.
Ellie Connors had 6 saves for the Fillies (3-1, 2-1), while Jenny Fermaintt (5 goals) and Ann Cho (3) accounted for the offense for the Hawks (2-5, 0-3).
• Mathilde Mogensen and Kristin Anderson both scored twice to help Palatine edge Schaumburg 6-5. Brianna Vasquez paced the Saxons with 3 goals.
Tess O'Brien (6 saves) and Meghan Woell (10 saves) shared time in goal for Palatine (4-5, 2-1); Schaumburg slipped to 3-5 and 1-2.
