Quilt collection celebrates American folk art

An exhibit displaying the handmade quilt collection of the late Barbara Leak of Glen Ellyn opens with a wine and cheese reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Stacy's Tavern Museum, 577 Geneva Road, Glen Ellyn.

The Barbara Ann Weber Leak Quilt Show will be open through Saturday, June 4.

The collection of traditional quilts reflects the essence of American folk art. Visitors also will have an opportunity to tour Stacy's Tavern Museum, an award winning 1846 traveler's inn and stagecoach stop furnished with examples of antique American country furniture.

Reception tickets are $10. The exhibit continues from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays through June 4. General admission is $5 for adults, $2.50 for youth younger than 18, and free for children 5 and younger.
