Baseball: Mundelein downs Anna-Jonesboro

Brendan Murphy went 3-for-4 with a double, and Mundelein's baseball team beat Anna-Jonesboro 9-4 downstate Thursday night to improve to 5-1.

Winning-pitcher Steven Sanchez threw 4 innings, striking out a pair and allowing 4 hits. Wil Michalski followed with 3 innings in relief, striking out six and yielding 4 hits as well.

Mundelein's 11-hit attack also included the efforts of Brett Parola (2-for-3), Ryan Fairweather (2-for-4) and Zack Zagula (triple).

The Mustangs host Crystal Lake Central at 10 a.m. Saturday.
