Lincolnshire teen named Eagle Scout

Stevenson High School junior Ben Brandt has earned an Eagle Scout ranking by organizing a community project that led to the installation of a perennial garden on the site of a former volleyball court at Whytegate Park in Lincolnshire, school officials announced. Brandt, of Lincolnshire, worked with more than 30 volunteers for four months on the effort. He also raised more than $2,400 toward the project's $18,000 cost. The site now has 10 trees, four benches, a sundial and stone paths. Brandt is the son of Lincolnshire Mayor Elizabeth Brandt.
