Girls soccer: Streamwood blanks East Aurora; St. Charles E. wins
Streamwood 5, East Aurora 0: First-year head coach Kristin Duffy, a former defender at Naperville Central High School, earned her first varsity win with an Upstate Eight crossover win over the Tomcats. Alondra Blanco had 1 goal and 2 assists while Stephanie Corona had 1 goal and 1 assist for the Sabres (1-1). Shonali Pierce, Paulette Carranza and Karina Nevarez also connected on goals and Vanessa Campos added 1 assist. Keeper Yasmine Resendiz notched 2 saves for the shutout.
St. Charles East 6, West Chicago 0: Two goals each from Rose Stackhouse and Chantel Carranza did the trick for the Saints (3-0) in a UEC crossover win. Hannah Kolb and Claire Rasmussen added goals as well. Megan O'Neal notched 2 assists while Julia Peterson had one.
West Aurora 5, Larkin 0: The Blackhawks (2-1) dominated the Royals (0-1) in UEC crossover action behind Kat Stephens' hat trick. Jocelyn Ferrer and Anahi Toscano each had goals while Riley O'Brien tallied 4 assists. Jessica Ortiz also added 1 assist and Bailey Ziman (4 saves) and Mylene Palacios-Ferrer (2 saves) split time in goal for the shutout.
South Elgin 1, Elgin 0: Kristen Schill drilled the only goal in the Storm's (1-3) win over the Maroons (1-2) in UEC crossover action. Jackie DeLaMora had 3 saves for the shutout.
CL South 2, Prairie Ridge 0: In Fox Valley Conference crossover action, the Gators blanked the Wolves to improve to 3-1. Annika Sevcik earned a shutout in goal while Katherine Siavelis and Jessica Schoenfeldt each found the net.
Sycamore 5, Burlington Central 4: The Rockets (2-1) dropped a tough one at Sycamore in nonconference action despite 2 goals from Jordan King. Anna McMahon and Megan Majewski scored goals while Sydney Pryor added 2 assists. Abbi Ciganek totaled 11 saves in net.
Woodstock 6, Westminster Christian 0: Despite 11 saves from Elise Van Noord, the Warriors (0-2) were shut out in nonconference action.
