Softball: Molenhouse, Rosary roll over Glenbard North
Rosary 11, Glenbard North 1: Emma Molenhouse tossed a 2-hitter with 10 strikeouts and Maria Van Bogaert went 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI as Rosary won easily in nonconference action. Also contributing to the Royals' offense were Xandria Olsen (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Sarah Willman (2 doubles, 3 RBI), Riley McCue (2B) and Ries McCue (2 hits).
ACC 10, Newark 0: Val Litrenta was 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored, winning pitcher Danielle Brown went 2-for-2 with a double and 3 RBI and Jessica Eallonardo was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI to lead the Chargers to a nonconference win. Brown allowed 3 hits and had 13 strikeouts with no walks.
CL South 15, Richmond-Burton 12: Carly Chovancek was 3-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI and Taylor Kassel had a double and 3 RBI to lead the Gators to a nonconference win in their season opener. Annalisa Toniolo added a triple and 2 RBI for Crystal Lake South while Sam Burgard and Sam Schertt each drove in 2 runs. Freshman Christina Toniolo picked up her first varsity win, pitching 4 innings in relief and allowing no earned runs.
Hoffman Estates 26, Larkin 4: Haley Bohne had an RBI triple, Bella Aguinaga 2 RBI and Gloria Stoltz 2 hits for Larkin in this nonconference loss. The Royals were hurt by 8 errors.
