Armed robber strikes Des Plaines doughnut shop

A man armed with two handguns walked into a Des Plaines Dunkin' Donuts Sunday morning, threatened an employee and robbed the business of about $600, police said.

According to Des Plaines police reports, the robber entered the business on the 1900 block of South River Road at about 11:56 a.m. Sunday wearing a black scarf over his face. He walked behind the cash register and told an employee "Give me all of the money or I'll shoot you" while lifting up his jacket to show two guns tucked inside his waistband, police said.

Police said the employee opened the register and the robber took money from the cash tray as well as from under the drawer, before leaving the business.

The robber was described as a white male standing about 5'10" and weighing 190 pounds. He was wearing black shoes, dark pants, a black jacket with a white Nike logo on the breast pocket, a black hood and a blue shirt under the jacket.
