Perth enhances A-League playoff chances, beats Wellington

SYDNEY (AP) - Andy Keogh and Spanish winger Diego Castro scored goals in either half Sunday as the Perth Glory consolidated their top-six playoff position in the A-League with a 2-1 win over the Wellington Phoenix.

It was Castro's 12th goal of the season. Tom Doyle scored two minutes into added time to give the home side its only goal of the match.

The win left Perth in fifth place, three points ahead of the sixth-place Melbourne Victory, who played to a 1-1 draw later Sunday with Newcastle.

The draw moved the Victory three points ahead of Sydney FC in the quest for the sixth and final playoff spot, with three regular-season rounds remaining.

The first-place Western Sydney Wanderers hold a one-point edge over Melbourne City and Brisbane, with Adelaide a further point behind in fourth place.
