Kinsler, Iglesias get Tigers started fast against Braves
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - Ian Kinsler and Jose Iglesias got hits to start a five-run first inning off Bud Norris and a split squad of Detroit Tigers beat the Atlanta Braves 8-2 Sunday.
Detroit starter Shane Greene went five innings in his second start, giving up one run and three hits and striking out four.
Norris pitched into the fifth inning without giving up any more earned runs. He allowed seven hits while striking out five in 4 2/3 innings.
Iglesias had three hits and Kinsler scored twice.
Michael Bourne drove in Atlanta's first run with a triple.
