Felipe scores 2 second-half goals as Red Bulls beat Dynamo

HARRISON, New Jersey (AP) - Felipe scored twice in a six-minute span in the second half to lead the New York Red Bulls a stunning 4-3 victory over the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

The Brazilian midfielder scored from the top of the box in the 77th minute to level the score at 3-all, and then tallied on a free kick in the 83rd for the win.

Sacha Kljestan and Mike Grella also scored as the Red Bulls avoided their first 0-3 start since 1998, when the team was known as the MetroStars.

Will Bruin scored two first-half goals for the potent Dynamo, while Brazilian midfielder Alex added the other in the 65th minute to give Houston a 3-2 lead.

Elsewhere, Gyasi Zardes scored two goals early in the second half as Los Angeles beat 10-man San Jose 3-1 in the season opener of the California Clasico rivalry.

Jelle Van Damme headed the ball across the front of the goal and Zardes finished with a toe punch in the 56th minute. He then doubled the lead six minutes later with an opportunistic stab at Kip Colvey's errant clearance attempt.

Robbie Keane capped the scoring with a penalty kick for the Galaxy in the 91st.

The Earthquakes went down a man in the third minute of first-half stoppage time when Simon Dawkins was sent off for a lunging tackle on Sebastian Lletget.

Mauro Diaz opened the scoring for FC Dallas in the 79th minute and Maximiliano Urruti added a fast-break finish in the 87th to secure a 2-0 win over Montreal.

With the late scoring flurry, FC Dallas bounced back from its 5-0 loss to the Dynamo last Saturday.

Pedro Morales scored twice on penalty kicks to give Vancouver its first victory of the season, 2-1 over winless Seattle.

Vancouver had lost consecutive games to start a season for the first time in its five MLS campaigns. It's the first time Seattle has started a season with three straight losses.

Fanendo Adi scored twice in a four-minute span late in the second half to help Portland salvage a 2-2 draw with Real Salt Lake.

And Matt Lampson had four saves, including a diving stop in the 68th minute, as Chicago played Columbus to a scoreless draw.
