Barrington celebrates St. Patrick's Day
Irish dancers, Celtic music and plenty of food, Guinness and fun helped Barrington celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Thursday during the opening day of Barrington Celtic Fest.
The sixth annual edition of the free festival continues through Saturday with live performances all day under a huge tent put up over the 200 block of Park Avenue in the village's downtown.
More Northwest suburbs will join in on the Celtic-themed fun Saturday with the Paint the Town Green festival in Palatine, highlighted by a 50-entry parade, and Northwest Celtic Fest inside the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.
