Community invited to gather for Interfaith Thanksgiving service

The Coalition of Elgin Religious Leaders invites you to the annual Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at First United Methodist Church, 216 E. Highland Ave., Elgin. Use the south door entrance. There is ample parking in the city desk across the street.

The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Nathaniel Edmond, pastor of Second Baptist Church in Elgin and guest Elgin Mayor David Kaptain. There will be a freewill offering to benefit Ecker Center for Mental Health.

Participants include: Bait Ul Ilm House of Knowledge Mosque, Christian Science Church, Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Congregation Kneseth Israel, First Christian Church, First Congregational Church, First United Methodist Church, Fox Valley Initiative, Lao Buddhist Temple, Presence St. Joseph Hospital, Second Baptist Church, Seventh-day Adventist Church, St. Laurence Catholic Church, Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin, Zion Lutheran Church and others.
