Wegman beats Armstrong in Democratic primary for Kane County Board's 20th District

Gail Borden Library Trustee Penny Wegman held a lead over former Elgin city planner Tom Armstrong Tuesday night for the Democratic nomination for Kane County Board District 20.

With all 13 precincts reporting, Wegman had 1,161 votes to Armstrong's 935, according to unofficial results. The seat is being vacated by Democrat Cristina Castro, who supported Armstrong and encouraged him to seek the seat. Nobody ran in the Republican primary.
