Premier Healthcare says laptop with patient info returned

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Premier Healthcare says a laptop containing patient information has been returned after it was stolen from a Bloomington office.

Premier said Monday that the laptop had been returned. A news release says the laptop was returned by mail on or about March 7.

The Herald-Times (http://bit.ly/251iwtl ) reports an Indianapolis-based security consulting firm did a forensic analysis of the laptop and determined it hadn't been powered on since being stolen from Premier's billing office. Premier said that based on the evaluation, there's no evidence that the information of more than 200,000 patients was accessed.

Police and Premier are investigating how the laptop was stolen.
