Man accused of making harassing calls to Lake County jail

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) - A Chicago man was ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bond for making threatening telephone calls to the Lake County Jail.

Lake County Sheriff's Det. Christopher Covelli says 27-year-old Dantrell L. Williams is charged with felony disorderly conduct and a misdemeanor charge of harassment by telephone.

Covelli said Williams used a blocked telephone number to make threatening and sexual comments during the calls to the jail on March 12 and March 13. During one call, Williams allegedly told an employee he was going to "get a gun and shoot everything up."

Covelli said detectives traced the calls to a Chicago address. They also determined Williams was previously arrested on charges of making harassing telephone calls in Gurnee and Lake Villa.

It wasn't immediately known if Williams has obtained legal representation.
