St. Charles library presents 'The Essential Edgar Allan Poe'
This April marks the 20th anniversary of National Poetry Month: a celebration with schools, libraries, publishers, booksellers and poets celebrating poetry's vital place in our culture.
Local storyteller William Pack will exhume the tragic life and extraordinary writings of famed author and poet Edgar Allan Poe from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.
Dramatic storytelling, story readings and Pack's signature performance will bring Poe's world to life.
Born and raised in Chicago, Pack is a magician, storyteller and author with more than 30 years of performing experience. At an early age, he discovered Chicago's Back of the Yards branch library and fell in love with words. The books he read opened up new and different worlds for him. He got his first job in a magic shop at the age of 11 and he has been performing ever since.
