Join in cough pillow workhop with Plato Center HCE
The Plato Center Unit for Home and Community Education will meet Friday, March 18, at the Plato Town Hall, 10N924 Rippberger Road. The ladies will meet at 9 a.m. for the annual cough pillow and walker bag workshop. Jackie Anderson is the organizer of this event. They will stuff ears, pin, sew, turn and iron our cough pillows and walker bags. Sewing machines, ironing boards are the tools of the trade, plus many willing hands. They wil break at 11:30 a.m. for a brown bag lunch. Volunteers are needed; call Jackie at (847) 741-0557.
The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m. The hostesses are Jeri Bruening, Marcella Drendel and Arlene Reiser. They will finalize plans for the International luncheon in April. The lesson for learning is "New Ways to Cut Your Electricity Bills." There are many hints that will be presented.
At the February meeting, Muriel Covington and Dee Boldt presented a lesson on "Super Foods to the Rescue." They had healthy drinks and dips with veggies that were featured in the lesson. They also mentioned foods that are on the supermarket shelves that are available to all. It was a very informative lesson.
They invite members of the Elgin, South Elgin, Plato Center and surrounding communities to attend the meetings. For details, call Joan at (847) 931-8120. All are welcome.
