Man, 18, convicted in southern Illinois shooting death
CAIRO, Ill. (AP) - An Alexander County jury has convicted an 18-year-old Cairo (KEHR'-oh) man of first-degree murder.
Marquad Harris was found guilty Friday in the June shooting death of 34-year-old Christopher Nelson of Cairo.
Nelson was the father of Harris' younger brother. Alexander County State's Attorney Zach Gowin tells the Southeast Missourian newspaper "it's a sad situation" for the family.
Harris returns to court for sentencing on April 12.
