Free mulch in Mundelein

Mundelein's public works and engineering department will host an inaugural March Mulch Madness giveaway for homeowners and contractors from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2. High-quality, shredded mulch will be provided on a first-come basis. Equipment operators will load larger mulch requests into the back of a truck or trailer. A load-your-own zone for people with smaller containers to fill will be available. The event is at the department yard, 440 E. Crystal St., adjacent to the Fun Roller Rink. Call (847) 949-3270.
