Revs' home opener ends in scoreless draw with DC United

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Lee Nguyen's right-footed shot hit the crossbar in the 55th minute and the New England Revolution and D.C. United played to a scoreless draw Saturday.

Kelyn Rowe had an opening in the 93rd minute to put the Revolution (0-0-2) on top, but his right-footed shot from near the middle of the box missed wide left. The Revolution have been shut out in their last three home openers.

United (0-1-1) had its best late scoring chance when Bobby Boswell headed down Julian Buescher's corner in the 85th minute. It skidded through to the far side of the box where Nick DeLeon ripped it wide of the post.

The Revolution's Bobby Shuttleworth and United's Travis Worra earned shutouts with three saves each. Worra made his first career start in place of injured Bill Hamid.

New England's Charlie Davies left the game in the first half due to an undisclosed injury.
