Empty suburban commuter train derails; no injuries

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (AP) - A suburban commuter train has derailed in northern Indiana, but no one has been injured.

The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District said on its website that the derailment happened Saturday morning in Michigan City. It also said all service on the South Shore Line is suspended until further notice.

A statement from the South Shore Line published on WSBT-TV's website (http://bit.ly/1Rdg27d ) says no passengers were on board the train, which derailed as it was being moved into position. The statement also says that the track and overhead wire were damaged.
