Conant looks sharp, wins own tourney

Conant's girls water polo team rolled through the competition in the tournament it hosted on Saturday.

The unbeaten Cougars (5-0) topped St. Charles East 10-2, beat Lake Forest 17-3 and handled Lane 10-6.

Paulina Chowaniec paced Conant with 5 goals against St. Charles East, and Claire Rosas had 14 saves.

Sam Wooley had a team-high 5 goals for the Cougars against Lake Forest, and Chowaniec (4) and Wooley (3) led the way against Lane.

• Rolling Meadows won three of its four games in tournament play at Chicago Northside Prep on Saturday.

The Mustangs claimed victory against Hinsdale South (11-1), Northside Prep (8-6) and Marian Catholic (10-4), with their only loss coming against Oak Park-River Forest (12-2).

Sara Luedloff led the scoring effort for Meadows against Hinsdale South (with 6 goals) and against Northside (with 5), and Betsy Zanocco had a team-best 3 against Marian.
