Resident fights with burglar he finds in Elk Grove residence

A man fought with a burglar he found ransacking the master bedroom of his house, Elk Grove Village police said.

The offender fled through a rear patio door, leaving a TV on the floor after he was discovered around 10:13 p.m. March 2 inside a home on the 100 block of Boardwalk. Missing items included an iPad, laptop and several pieces of jewelry. Value of the stolen items was estimated at $1,000.
