Carpentersville molester headed to prison
A Carpentersville man was sentenced to prison Thursday for sexually assaulting a young child he knew, the Kane County state's attorney's office said.
Olibar Modesto, 50, of the 300 block of Delaware Street, agreed to a 10-year prison sentence and pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault.
Prosecutors presented evidence that on Oct. 1, 2013, Modesto sexually assaulted a child younger than 12.
Modesto must register as a sex offender for life and must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. He receives credit for 898 days in Kane County jail, where he's been held since his arrest.
