Stern Pinball in Elk Grove Village releases new Ghostbuster machine

Elk Grove Village-based Stern Pinball Inc. announced Thursday that it released its new Ghostbusters pinball machine.

Inspired by the 1984 mega blockbuster movie Ghostbusters, produced by Columbia Pictures, the newest Stern machine puts players into the business of becoming ghost catchers, the company says.

As players journey away from the start button, they will explore modes and features that are straight from the first movie, including all the punch lines as call outs. The new machine features custom speech by original Ghostbusters cast member, Ernie Hudson, who instructs players to become the newest member of the Ghostbusters team.

"Ghostbusters pinball machine celebrates the much-loved original movie produced by Columbia Pictures and gives fans a fun, entertaining, high-energy pinball experience," said Gary Stern, chairman and CEO of Stern Pinball Inc. "After all who are you gonna call - Ghostbusters Pinball."

The game is intuitive, he said. When players begin a game, it will lead them from one goal to the next. Once players push start, all five ghost lights begin to blink, making it clear that the goal is to hit that target.

The game will keep track of how many ghosts have been captured throughout the round, and at various increments. The number of caught ghosts will result in an award from bonuses.

Stern Pinball Inc. says it's the oldest and largest producer of arcade-quality pinball games in the world.
