Palatine 14, Hersey 5: Senior Ivan Turkan led the way with a 6-goal effort as the host Pirates came up with an MSL crossover victory at Fremd.
Senior Marcus Carter-Buckman and sophomore Sean O'Brien both had a pair of goals for Palatine in its season opener, and goalie Jake Conrad stopped 4 shots and had 3 assists.
