Taylor YMCA launches 'The Y. For a Better Us' annual campaign

Taylor Family YMCA gives our community the support it needs to learn, grow and thrive. From advocacy to food security, disease prevention to athletics, football to dance classes, everything we do helps strengthen our neighborhood and the people who live here.

But keeping Elgin, St. Charles, Gilberts, South Elgin, Burlington, Lily Lake, and Pingree Grove great is a full-time job. Every day, our community faces new challenges that create a greater need for the work we do. And we need your help to do it. Your gift can help your community and everyone in it shine.

"Throughout our communities, countless people know 'the Y.' But there's so much more to our Y than one might think," said Dave Burisek, executive director of Taylor Family YMCA. "The Y is more than a gym. It's a cause. As a charity, we're dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the nation's health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors."

This year, the Taylor Family YMCA hopes to raise $70,000. Funds raised will support healthy living programs, summer day camp, after school programs, senior fitness, the Livestrong cancer survivor program, and memberships for those in the community who would otherwise not be able to afford to join the Y. In addition, some of the funds will go toward much needed updates in facilities and equipment at the branch.

Last year, charitable gifts from YMCA donors made it possible for kids to have a safe place to learn and build confidence after school, and for families to reconnect and grow together. Give today and together we can do so much more! For a better you. For a better community. For a better us.
