Chelsea Chen to perform in concert at Trinity International University

Renowned organist Chelsea Chen will return to Trinity International University on Friday, March 18, to perform on the Casavant pipe organ at 7:30 p.m. in the ATO Chapel on the Deerfield campus.

Chen is an internationally renowned organ soloist and composer who has performed at venues in Europe, Australia, Asia and the United States. She has been a featured soloist at prestigious international venues such as Singapore's Esplanade, Hong Kong's Cultural Centre, and Kishinev, Moldova's National Organ Hall. Chen's work as a composer has also achieved notable acclaim. Her original pieces for organ include "Taiwanese Suite" (2003) and "Taiwan Tableaux" (2007).

Chen is a graduate of Juilliard, where she received both her bachelor's and master's degrees. She was also a full scholarship recipient at Yale University, where she earned an Artist Diploma. She has won numerous international competitions and recorded multiple CDs. In 2014 she became organist and artist-in-residence at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She splits her time between Florida and New York, where she is also artist-in-residence at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Manhattan.

Tickets are now on sale for the Chelsea Chen organ concert, part of The Helen Smith Richard Organ Recital Series at Trinity. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. The Helen Laverne Smith Richard organ recital series is made possible through generous contributions by the Richard family, in loving memory of their wife and mother.
