Former employee admits stealing from Rosemont shop

A former employee of a Rosemont clothing store pleaded guilty Friday to stealing merchandise last year, court records show.

In exchange for his guilty plea to wire fraud, Benjamin Forgie, 31, was sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to pay $8,004 in restitution.

Prosecutors say Forgie, of the 1600 block of Sunnyside Avenue in Chicago, began working at a store on the 5300 block of Fashion Outlets Way last year. Records did not identify the specific store.

On more than two dozen occasions between June 29 and Oct. 24, 2015, he used fraudulent names to scan merchandise as returns, after which he credited the fraudulent returns to his debit card, prosecutors said.
