The information technology products and services company reported a stronger profit and greater sales than analysts had expected.

Gap Inc., up 75 cents to $29.29

The retailer said sales at its namesake stores improved in February from prior months.

Freeport-McMoRan Inc., up 63 cents to $9.74

Metals prices continued to climb after Friday's better-than- expected jobs report suggested the U.S. economy is improving.

H&R Block Inc., down $5.14 to $27.76

The company's quarterly results disappointed investors as people are filing their taxes later and refunds are taking longer to process.

Transocean Ltd., up $1.88 to $12.71

Oil prices continued to rise, and investors hope energy prices have stabilized after almost two years of declines.

Carmike Cinemas Inc., up $4.14 to $29.25

AMC Theaters said it will buy Carmike for $1.1 billion, creating the biggest movie theater chain in the world.
