Aurora man charged with robbing six fast-food restaurants
A 27-year-old Aurora man has been charged with robbing five fast-food restaurants last month in Aurora and one in Naperville, authorities said Wednesday.
Cord Greenwall of the 200 block of Hill Avenue is being held on $550,000 bond, authorities said. He has been charged with four counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of robbery.
In each case, police said, Greenwall would enter the restaurant and demand an employee turn over cash from the register.
He is charged with the following robberies:
• Feb. 15 at Papa John's, 3015 E. New York St., Aurora;
• Feb. 17: Subway, 2916 Ogden Ave., Aurora;
• Feb. 18: Dunkin' Donuts, 1237 N. Eola Road, Aurora;
• Feb. 20: Papa John's, 1220 W. Ogden Ave., Naperville;
• Feb. 27: Subway, 2916 Ogden Ave., Aurora;
• Feb. 29: Burger King, 2333 Ogden Ave., Aurora.
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said no one was injured in what he termed Greenwall's “one-man crime spree.”
Aurora police Chief Kristen Ziman said officers from every division of her department worked on the case with assistance from officers in Naperville and St. Charles. “Because of this shared common goal among dozens of officers,” she said in a written statement, “Aurora's streets are safer.”
Greenwall's next court appearance is scheduled for March 15 in front of DuPage Judge Daniel Guerin. Authorities said the investigation is continuing.
