Healing Gardens to host 'Silent Saturday Morning'

Healing Gardens, a 2-acre expanse of woodland and perennial gardens at Stone Hill Farm off Dean Street in St. Charles, will host a "Silent Saturday Morning" from 9 a.m. to noon March 5.

The morning will consist of two, 20-minute meditation periods; a guided meditation walk in nature; silent reflection time; a time to journal and optional sharing.

Drinks and snacks are provided; the cost is $20 per person. Scholarships are available. Register online at www.healinggardensatstonehillfarm.com or call Deb Marqui at (630) 377-1846.

Marqui, a licensed clinical social worker and owner of Healing Gardens at Stone Hill Farm, will facilitate the morning. A two-time cancer survivor, she attributes her healing to the restorative power of nature and desires to offer a place for others to renew their spirits in the silence of nature.

The gardens are open to the public the second Sunday of each month, April through October. The admission fee is $5 per person and $10 per family. Call for discounted group rates. Cancer survivors are free, although donations of time or money for upkeep are appreciated.

Healing Gardens is at 37W249 Dean S., St. Charles. For more information, call (630) 377-1846 or visit www.healinggardensatstonehillfarm.com.
