Chicago Zika case confirmed
Hospital officials on Monday announced the first case of Zika virus in Chicago - a woman in her 30s who had recently traveled to Colombia - ABC 7 reported on its website.
Five Zika cases in Illinois have been confirmed.
"Based on her clinical symptoms we had a high suspicion that she had Zika virus," Dr. Roberta Luskin-Hawk of Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, where the woman was treated, told ABC 7
The woman returned from Colombia in late January and sought treatment at her primary care physician, according to the TV station. She was never hospitalized.
