Women in Business to host fashion show
The Women in Business Advisory Forum, a networking group of the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce, presents its first fashion show from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at the Palatine Township Senior Center, 505 S. Quentin Road, in Palatine.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the WIBAF Scholarship Fund, which supports high school women who are planning to pursue a degree in a business-related field.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at www.palatinechamber.com or in person at the Senior Center, 505 S. Quentin Road, using cash or check through Friday, March 4. Tickets will not be available at the door.
The luncheon will include a hot lunch buffet served by Pizza Bella Italian catering along with desserts donated by Nothing Bundt Cake and Costco of Schaumburg. Coffee, tea and lemonade will be served, and each attendee will receive one free raffle ticket and a swag bag full of giveaways and special offers.
Many raffle items, including themed baskets and gift cards, have been donated by chamber members. In addition to the complimentary raffle ticket each guest will receive at the door, raffle tickets will also be available for purchase during the event. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for raffle ticket sales and viewing.
Spring fashions will be modeled by members of the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce and the Palatine Township Senior Center.
In addition to the fashion providers, additional event contributors include A Touch of Elegance, which will be providing a table setting with china, centerpieces and linens.
Mari Beth Darling of Mary Kay Cosmetics and stylists from Salon Cienna will be providing makeup and hair styles for the volunteer models, who will be wearing fashions provided by DressBarn and PHD Resale Boutique.
Palatine Township Senior Center has donated the space for the event, and Palatine Park District is providing this year's swag bag and program printing.

WIBAF is an active group of business women who are interested in learning and networking with one another while discussing business related topics. Monthly meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from noon to 1:30 p.m. Meetings include featured member presentations and organized presentations of business topics, along with time for networking with other members in attendance.
In addition, members also have an opportunity to periodically profile their business in a 10-15 minute presentation. Non-chamber members are invited to join the group as guests for up to two visits. The fee to attend each WIBAF luncheon networking meeting is $15 per person.
