Porto beats Belenenses, Benfica's match postponed

LISBON, Portugal (AP) - FC Porto won 2-1 at Belenenses to stay in the Portuguese league's title chase on Sunday, while rival Benfica's home match against Uniao de Madeira was postponed due to poor weather conditions.

Yacine Brahimi opened the scoring for Porto in the ninth minute, and Belenenses' Antonio Vilar added an own goal in the 18th before teammate Juanto pulled one back early in the second half.

Porto provisionally pulled level on points with Benfica, three points behind leader Sporting Lisbon.

Benfica's match was postponed until Monday after poor weather prevented Uniao from traveling from the island to the mainland.

Sporting also plays on Monday, at Guimaraes.

Elsewhere Sunday, Maritimo edged Academica 1-0 at home, while Tondela won 2-1 at Moreirense.
