Car crashes into Fort Wayne house, driver seriously injured
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Fort Wayne police say a driver was seriously injured when the car he was driving left the road, struck an unattached garage, went through a fence and hit the back of the house.
Police say two people inside the house at the time were not injured, although the car was more than half way into the house. The accident occurred about 3:35 a.m. Sunday.
An Allen County sheriff's deputy reported seeing the car going at least 100 mph. Debris from the crash landed on the road, forcing it to be closed for several hours until the debris could be cleared.
The crash remains under investigation.
