Chicago Wolves sign 3 players to tryout contracts

The Chicago Wolves, standing in sixth place in the AHL's Central Division, signed three players to professional tryout contracts before tonight's game at Milwaukee.

Joining the Wolves are forward Justin Crandall, left wing Mike Embach and defenseman Nick Petrecki, team officials announced Friday morning.

Crandall, 23, had 15 goals, 35 assists for the Reading Royals to lead all ECHL rookies in scoring this season.

Embach, 28, is a native of Orland Park with 23 goals, 30 assists for the ECHL Fort Wayne Komets.

Petrecki, 26, was a first-round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft for San Jose. He has split time this season with the Indy Fuel and Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, and the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL).

The Wolves play three games in three days this weekend, which includes an Amtrak Rivalry clash at 7 p.m. Saturday at Allstate Arena.
