No. 11 Texas A&M women win 6th straight, beat Auburn 57-49

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Courtney Walker and Khaalia Hillsman scored 16 points apiece and No. 11 Texas A&M pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Auburn 57-49 on Thursday night for a season-high sixth-straight win.

With the victory, Texas A&M (21-7, 11-4 Southeastern Conference) clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, its highest mark in program history. The Aggies end their regular season against No. 15 Kentucky on Sunday.

Brandy Montgomery scored 13 points to lead Auburn (18-10, 8-7), which has lost two straight and concludes its season at Florida on Sunday.

Janiah McKay made a jumper and the Tigers had their last lead, 45-43 with 7:42 remaining. Walker answered with a jump shot and Hillsman added a layup as the Aggies closed on a 14-6 run to seal it. Walker scored four points and Courtney Williams added three of her seven points during the stretch.

The Aggies have won all eight meetings against Auburn.
