Woodland sets 2016-17 school calendar

Gurnee-based Woodland Elementary District 50 has announced its 2016-17 school calendar. School board members approved the new calendar at a meeting Tuesday night. Officials said the first day of school in the next academic season for grades one through eight will be Monday, Aug. 22. The last scheduled day of school for 2016-17 is set for Wednesday, June 7, 2017, using the assumption all five emergency days will be used.
