Jordan's King Abdullah meets Obama at White House
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama and Jordan's King Abdullah II are meeting to discuss Syria and the needs of civil war refugees.
Their White House session Wednesday comes as the U.S. and Russia are taking steps to put in place a cease-fire intended to help end the 5-year-old conflict.
The truce doesn't cover the Islamic State group.
Jordan shares a border with Syria and Iraq, and is struggling to accommodate more than 630,000 Syrian refugees.
The White House also says Obama and Abdullah will discuss how best to advance prospects for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
