Man arrested for throwing coin at West Brom player
READING, England (AP) - Police say a man has been arrested in relation to an incident in which a soccer player was hit in the face by a coin thrown by one of his team's fans after an FA Cup game in England.
West Bromwich Albion captain Chris Brunt was hit near his left eye as he went over to applaud the team's supporters after a 3-1 loss at Reading on Saturday.
Thames Valley Police said officers arrested a man on Tuesday.
Brunt said he felt "absolutely disgusted and ashamed" by the incident.
Objects were also thrown at Manchester City forward David Faupala as he celebrated a goal in an FA Cup match against Chelsea on Sunday. Police said a man was arrested that day for throwing a lighter onto the field.
